Description
A wedding dress from 1870 on the High Plains of West Texas mixed all the most important status symbols of a Victorian bride in America - lace and satin. Although these days, it is rare to find a wedding dressing combining the two, 150 years ago only the most affluent brides could overlay lace on a satin bodice with satin-covered buttons, with a full lace skirt and floor-length veil. She set a high standard of elegance for those following her down the aisle. ~April
