Mt. Etna is an active volcano on the island of Sicily. The last eruption was on March 10, 2021. Eruptions are on the rise. Since the beginning of 2021, Mt. Etna has erupted sixteen times. When I captured this image in 2000, the eruptions were much further apart. and it was safe to go up to the inactive side which is at a lower elevation. That is where I captured this image.
This is one of my photographs taken in 2000 at sunset to which I made some changes using AI. The changes I did was to get the effect of an eruption.
